ENGIE is partnered with Lewisham Homes to deliver internal safety works to Harman House, Pelican House, Lanyad House & Pendennis House on the Pepy’s Estate. These works include upgrading internal doors, internal fabric improvements and electrical improvement works. These works will commence in March and this phase of works will conclude in December.

    This week ENGIE Champions, Julian Sanz and Mark Bush helped support the Care Leavers Covenant (CLC), a charity that assists Care Leavers with help in their first homes when leaving care with access to training and employment, by providing a little makeover!

    They redecorated the hallway, Kitchen and bedroom with free paint supplied by Dulux and purchased £200 of fixtures and fittings which included; net curtains for entire property and curtains for both bedroom and lounge, as well as two lampshades.

    "Up until now my property hadn’t really felt like home but thanks to the help Julian and Mark provided I love my flat and can’t wait to be able to invite people round to show it off"

    Virtual Careers Weeks

    Access scaffolds are now up across Harmon, Pelican, Pendennis and Lanyard . These are to facilitate the installation of the new lateral mains.

    ENGIE will be hosting a number of events in your community in the coming weeks. Please see below:

    26th and 27th October

    Our volunteers will be supporting a Lewisham Care Leaver, through our partnership with “The Care Leavers Covenant”. Our volunteers will be painting and decorating a flat, as well as installing new curtains and pictures and donating £100 for fixtures and fittings.

    4th and 5th November

    A team of 20 ENGIE and Lewisham volunteers will be helping residents to clear a large green area at Honor Oak Park so local residents can utilise it for garden plots. ENGIE will also supply free tools, and skips for the event.

    Future Events

    • Achilles Street Drop In Centre – ENGIE is working with Lewisham to create a new community hub at the Achilles Street Shop Fronts, ENGIE volunteers will be redecorating the shops and installing new flooring as well as donating furniture and appliances. Lewisham will be funding major works to the property including facilities, kitchen and toilets. ENGIE will be donating furniture and appliances to the soon to be refurbished “Achilles Street Drop In Centre”
    • Comet Street Community Garden – ENGIE is supporting the newly created Comet Street Community Garden, our volunteers will be helping to build new raised planters, install signage and trellis and are assisting with funding for solar panels.
  • Update on current works at the Pepys Estate

    We are currently undertaking the following works on the Pepys Estate:

    Electrical Works

    Preparation work is currently being undertaken in the communal areas to complete:

    • Electrical rewire or upgrade to the fuse board
    • Upgrade of communal electrics.

    Internal Doors

    We are currently completing surveys of each of the blocks. Installation of the first doors is planned for November.

    Fire Stopping Works

    These works are currently in progress.

    Following the fire safety surveys carried last month we will be undertaking urgent remedial works throughout the communal areas during the next period 20.07 – 20.08.2020

    These works are non-intrusive, and we are taking all necessary precautions to follow the social distancing measures and keep our operatives safe as well as everyone living in here. All our workers will carry IDs and High-Visibility clothing and any task that will take longer than 15min will be cordoned off with mobile barriers to make sure they are visible and we can keep 2m apart at all times.

    If you have any questions or concerns regarding the above please leave us a comment letter in the Engie letter box (installed next to the ground floor – lift door) with your name, phone number and flat number and we will get back to you ASAP

    We are doing our best to stop any unauthorized access to both the site compound and toilet areas such as to keep everyone safe and secure. We are currently setting up a hoarding perimeter to the site that will prevent children getting in to play by mistake and improve the overall protection of the premises.

    Following the fire surveys findings, we will undertake some immediate fire stopping works throughout each building communal areas. These works comprise of filling holes from cables penetrating the walls and are a first step in improving the fire safety of your property.

    These works are non-intrusive and they will be carried out just In the communal areas.   • Front entry doors

    An important part of the works we’re doing is upgrading each flat front entry door. This involve replacing your current front entry door Front entry doors (FED) new one which at the same time will offer a higher level of fire protection. Because sometimes looks matter, we have 4 different types of doors and 4 colours you can choose from. You will find these on the FED colour choice form letter that you will receive during the next days in your letter box.

    Please have a look at the pictures provided and fill in the form with your door style and colour preference, along with your name and signature.

    Once the form is completed please post it in the newly assembled Engie letter box fitted next to the lifts, on the ground floor of the building. We can then start processing your form ASAP while helping each other to maintain social distance and have your new door ready to be fitted once the lockdown measures ease

    We’ve recently installed ENGIE letter boxes inside your building, ground floor – next to the elevator doors (Harmon, Pelican, Lanyard and Pendennis House). If you have any questions or concerns regarding the ongoing works please leave us a comment letter in, with your name, phone number and flat number and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
