  • New name, same faces - ENGIE to EQUANS!

ENGIE has announced the launch of a new global entity called EQUANS, which will now separately manage the majority of its client solutions/services-led activity.

The creation of EQUANS reflects ENGIE's desire to simplify its structure and refine its existing strategy to have a clearer focus on energy infrastructure and grid-scale renewables. For our services activity within EQUANS, it will mean optimal focus and greater agility in the way we operate.

In the UK & Ireland, all our activity in facilities management & technical services, energy efficiency and regeneration - as well as our specialist energy related capabilities including smart buildings, green mobility, district and embedded energy, and decentralised renewables will continue to operate within EQUANS exactly as they do today. This equates to a £2 billion revenue business, employing 13,500 people!

EQUANS continues to belong to ENGIE and for our customers nothing changes with this announcement as we remain committed to our existing high levels of service performance. Our current management and on-site teams including your Site Managers and Resident Liaison Officers will stay the same, still wearing ENGIE branded clothing for easy identification.

With this in mind, your future newsletters may look a little different when we change to EQUANS branding, however the content of your regular newsletters as well as digital updates will stay the same, continuing to provide you with an update on our progress, contact details for your site team, important safety reminders and news about community events and initiatives.

What ENGIE have been doing to support communities during COVID-19

ENGIE’s COVID-19 response is structured around solidarity, continuity and ingenuity. Here’s some of what we’re doing:

    • Our energy centre team has moved to a 24/7 operation at London Nightingale Hospital , where we have strengthened the resilience of critical heating and cooling systems to meet demand.
    • Supported the construction of two further NHS Nightingale hospitals, with ENGIE staff volunteering to help with the build in Manchester, and with the provision of gas supply in Birmingham.
    • Providing key workers with free electric vehicle charging throughout the UK during the pandemic.
    • Over 2,000 ENGIE employees are delivering essential services across 36 NHS hospitals and Trusts to keep vital infrastructure operational and safe.
    • Implementing an accelerated payment scheme for all its small suppliers to help their cash flow situation at this difficult time.
  • Covid-19 Site Closures

    supporting image

In light of the UK Government’s announcement regarding the measures introduced in the UK’s fight against the coronavirus, Covid-19, we have taken the decision to close all of our current sites, maintaining essential operations only, for the foreseeable future.

Our sites where safely demobilise as a result of this decision. However during the closure we will be undertaking regular safety and security checks, carried out in line with Government guidelines. If you wish to contact us during this period, our contact details are shown on this website and on our site notice boards.

Rest assured we are in constant discussions about this situation daily and we will inform you again once the position changes. We have everyone’s health, safety and welfare at the heart of our business and thank you for your understanding and support during this difficult period.

    The ENGIE team

  • Single Homeless Project (SHP)

In November 19, ENGIE was delighted to support a London wide charity, Single Homeless Project (SHP) to refurbish one of its hostels, Jason Lee House, in Ilford.

SHP works to prevent homelessness and to support vulnerable people to transform their lives. ENGIE provided materials and staff volunteers to transform the hostel’s garden area by creating raised planters, as well as decorating one of the communal rooms.

  • Skills Development Workshop

In October 19, ENGIE was delighted to support young people in the borough to develop employ-ability skills.

Working with national charity, Young Enterprise, our team supported a number of 16 & 17 year old students from New City College by taking part in a CV and interview challenge workshop.

The workshop provided an insight into how students can explore different job opportunities, create a CV and set out realistic job goals. Feedback from the college was really positive, with students welcoming the advice and guidance received from volunteers.
