  • National Apprenticeship Week 8-14 Feb 2021

National Apprenticeship Week is an annual week-long celebration of apprenticeships across England and is a time to recognise and applaud apprenticeship success stories across the country. Throughout the 14 years, National Apprenticeship Week has brought together apprenticeship supporters from across the country, with MPs, ambassadors, apprentices, training providers and top employers involved in recognising the value and importance of apprenticeships.

Apprentices are a vital part of our business at ENGIE and we currently have over 500 apprentices to deliver vital services, with over 130 working on the frontline or in key worker roles.

Apprenticeships form an important part of our approach to skills and training. There are many different apprenticeship pathways for both new and existing staff – supporting and training our people to become the managers, experts and leaders of a net-zero future.

Please contact the earlycareersuk@engie.com for more information about our apprenticeship programme.

What ENGIE have been doing to support communities during COVID-19

ENGIE’s COVID-19 response is structured around solidarity, continuity and ingenuity. Here’s some of what we’re doing:

    • Our energy centre team has moved to a 24/7 operation at London Nightingale Hospital , where we have strengthened the resilience of critical heating and cooling systems to meet demand.
    • Supported the construction of two further NHS Nightingale hospitals, with ENGIE staff volunteering to help with the build in Manchester, and with the provision of gas supply in Birmingham.
    • Providing key workers with free electric vehicle charging throughout the UK during the pandemic.
    • Over 2,000 ENGIE employees are delivering essential services across 36 NHS hospitals and Trusts to keep vital infrastructure operational and safe.
    • Implementing an accelerated payment scheme for all its small suppliers to help their cash flow situation at this difficult time.
  • COVID-19 Site Closures

    supporting image

In light of the UK Government’s announcement regarding the measures introduced in the UK’s fight against the coronavirus, Covid-19, we have taken the decision to close all of our current sites, maintaining essential operations only, for the foreseeable future.

Our sites where safely demobilise as a result of this decision. However during the closure we will be undertaking regular safety and security checks, carried out in line with Government guidelines. If you wish to contact us during this period, our contact details are shown on this website and on our site notice boards.

Rest assured we are in constant discussions about this situation daily and we will inform you again once the position changes. We have everyone’s health, safety and welfare at the heart of our business and thank you for your understanding and support during this difficult period.

  • Peabody Christmas Toy Appeal 2019

At Christmas 2019, the ENGIE team was delighted to support the Peabody Community Foundation toy appeal. This annual charitable event encourages businesses to help ensure that as many children as possible, have gifts to wake up to on Christmas Day.

ENGIE’s donation funded a wide range of gifts for all ages, which our team also helped to wrap. We look forward to working with the Foundation on other exciting initiatives during our time in the local area.

  • Christmas Shut Down 2019

Our Waltham Forest sites will be closing down for the Christmas holidays on Friday 20th December 2019 and will re-open from 2nd January 2020.

  • Helping people, changing lives.

Last week a few members of the team took part in some volunteering at a local hostel named Branches. The day consisted of some garden refurbishment, painting, building planters, weeding etc!

Branches provide accommodation for up to 18 months for single, homeless people aged 18 to 65 years in their 27-bed purpose-built hostel in Walthamstow, London E17. They support, encourage and facilitate changes that people want to make in their lives, you can visit their website at https://wfcbranches.org.uk/

If there are any volunteering opportunities for the team to take part in, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us by emailing ranjit.samra@engie.com or danielle.wiseman@engie.com.

    Thank you!
