Transforming Luton

In 2020, EQUANS (part of the ENGIE Group) was appointed by Luton Borough Council to deliver the Energy Efficiency and Improvement Works contract for tower blocks owned by the Council, for the Park Town Estate, Marsh Farm Estate and Hockwell Ring. The works are an integral part of the borough's strategy for major town-wide improvements.

Under Lot 1 of the contract, EQUANS are working in Heswall Court and Five Springs, with Lot 3 works then also happening at Dorset and Kingsland court, and Mossdale and Acworth Court.

On completion, the renovated blocks will deliver a reduction in heating costs through significantly improved thermal performance, double-glazed communal windows, LED lighting and roof-mounted solar PV panels which will generate green energy supply for communal areas.

The External Wall Insulation (EWI) improvements across the six blocks are anticipated to generate CO2 emission savings of 346,020kg CO2/year and support Luton Borough Council in their progress towards achieving ambitious government targets to reduce carbon emissions.

Lot 1 contract dates:

Five Springs: October 2020 - October 2021
Heswall Court: October 2020 - January 2022

Lot 3 contract dates:

Dorset and Kingsland Courts: March 2021 - July 2022
Mossdale and Acworth Courts: July 2021 - October 2022

New name, same faces!

Many of you will know us - our company and our people - as ENGIE, so we'd like to update you on a recent change of name to EQUANS and confirm that we're still the same people delivering the same work to transform Luton.

All of ENGIE's UK & Ireland activity in technical services & facilities management, energy efficiency and regeneration are now part of EQUANS. So, be reassured that if you start to see EQUANS on some of your communications - it's still us!
