ENGIE is supporting Kingston University to improve their student experience by offering a variety of student accommodation upgrades and increasing the amount of high quality and affordable bedrooms. The upgrades will provide new kitchen common rooms for all halls as well as re purposing the heritage buildings on the Seething Wells campus.

ENGIE is doing this by

  • An increase of 116 student bedrooms which will assist the University to guarantee availability for first year students
  • A two year construction programme incorporating most of the major works at the Kingston Hill campus during the summer recess minimising disruption to student learning




ENGIE is supporting Kingston University to improve their student experience by offering a variety of student accommodation upgrades and increasing the amount of high quality and affordable bedrooms. The upgrades will provide new kitchen common rooms for all halls as well as re purposing the heritage buildings on the Seething Wells campus.

ENGIE is doing this by

  • An increase of 116 student bedrooms which will assist the University to guarantee availability for first year students
  • A two year construction programme incorporating most of the major works at the Kingston Hill campus during the summer recess minimising disruption to student learning
  • An innovative and flexible variety of Kitchen Common Room (KCR) cluster sizes providing students with a diverse offering to meet both personal and social needs
  • An enhanced Incubator area at Seething Wells providing flexible space and proactive financial and corporate support from the consortium
  • Both internal and external Wifi access to students
  • Enhancement to student experience by providing a Residential Life Manager who will support all aspects of living in residences developing a tailored engagement plan for each residence resulting in a unique inclusive experience for all students.

ENGIE are also providing a Total Facilities Management service for Seething Wells and Kingston Hill Halls of Residence. We are operational 24/7, 365 days a year with our primary focus being towards providing the University and its students with, clean, secure and well-maintained quality student accommodation. ENGIE FM are responsible for the following:

  • Cleaning
  • Security
  • Maintenance
  • Grounds Maintenance
  • Waste Management
  • Postal Services
  • Reception & Helpdesk
  • Car Parking
  • IT Services
  • Mail Services
  • Student Welfare

We have a total of 1216 rooms of which all are self-catered with en-suite facilities, a communal kitchen and dining area. The kitchens contain ovens, hobs, fridge/freezers, microwaves, kettles and toasters along with hoovers, cleaning mop, bucket, ironing board and iron provided in each flat.

To improve performance and professionalism we have a 24/7/365 helpdesk which integrates with our Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system to log all maintenance works ensuring that they are carried out in a quick and sufficient manner.

We also have a dedicated Resident Life Manager focussing specifically on the student experience. The RLM will utilise innovative, exciting and creative solutions to engage and connect with residents on a range of issues, information and services – ultimately enhancing the overall student experience for residences.

As professionals in facilities management, ENGIE strive to not only provide accommodation for residents but we understand the importance of this move for the student.
