Considerate Constructors Scheme July follow up
There was a follow up to our recent Considerate Constructors Scheme visit where ENGIE increased our score from an incredible 42/50 to an even more outstanding 44/50. ENGIE’s staff created a plan to work on the comments from the site’s assessor in order to improve the image of construction in the area. The Considerate Constructors Scheme scores sites against their code of conduct which includes, appearance, community, environment, safety and workforce to improve the image of construction.
The team improved their score in the environmental and workforce sections from 8/9 to 9/9. With the assessor saying:
"What impressed me was the exceptional promotion of environmental effort and achievement including information on minimising or eliminating the use of single plastics which is now communicated towards tenants and on the community noticeboard. An outstanding effort to make use of redundant/surplus materials has provided a new kitchen for a community centre (installed) and an outstanding walk in site shower."
The assessor added:
"The site has made some outstanding improvements in the interim period between visits which were beyond the monitor’s expectation for them. A mental health first-aid person is now included within the team and health screening is available on request. Probably the best site shower I’ve seen has been installed and promotion of the Scheme web-site and E-learning modules makes it hard not to be curious about them. The promoting construction campaign has gone beyond the display of a poster to provide real time engagement with those it is aimed at."
